The Vision…
Our vision is to tackle food insecurity and social isolation by creating a space where everyone feels welcome and supported.
We know that people in our community are struggling — some to put food on the table, others to find connection and company. We believe that by addressing both together, we can help build a stronger, more caring community.
It all began with listening. We spent time talking with local residents, families, and community groups to understand the challenges people are facing day to day.
What we heard was clear:
-
Too many people are skipping meals or worrying about where their next one will come from.
-
Many are feeling lonely or cut off from others.
We realised that what was needed wasn’t just food support — but a project that brings people together.
With that in mind, we set out to find a place that could become the heart of this project — somewhere safe, welcoming, and open to everyone. After months of planning and collaboration, we have secured the perfect space at The Sheds and we’re transforming it into a accessible space.
This will be a place to:
-
Access food when needed
-
Bring people together, build relationships and work towards making a difference
Our space isn’t just about food — it’s about community, connection, and belonging.
We’re working to make sure no one in our community goes hungry — and that no one feels alone.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I access food for myself or someone else in need?
Please use the ‘Need Help?’ button on the website or email us at [email protected].
Tackling Food Insecurity:
We’re not a food bank
There’s no means testing
You don’t need a referral
Just reach out — we’re here to help, not to judge
Whether you’re between jobs, waiting for pay, or just going through a tough patch — this is a resource for short-term help, not long-term reliance.
We can arrange for a food package to be prepared for collection from the stable or if necessary one of our team can deliver to you.
How do you aim to tackle social isolation?
We know that many in our community feel isolated, for a wide range of reasons. We aim to tackle this by:
Creating a welcoming space for everyone
Providing a place to connect and chat with others
Encouraging a sense of belonging and community
Enabling individuals to work together to make a difference
Whether you want to help out with the fridges, get stuck into the garden, or just have a cuppa and a chat — there’s a place for you here. Volunteering is a great way to meet others, build confidence, and make a real difference in the community.
How can I volunteer?
We’re delighted that you are interested in volunteering!
There are lots of ways to get involved depending on your interests, availability, and experience. Volunteer roles include:
Growing and gardening – helping to create the growing space, sowing, planting, watering, weeding and harvesting produce.
Food project support – assisting with preparing food packages, managing donations, or food distribution.
Education and events – supporting workshops, open days, and community outreach.
General maintenance and site care – helping keep the space welcoming and functional.
Volunteers are welcome on both weekdays and weekends, with flexible time slots to suit different schedules.
We’ll soon be holding a Volunteer Open Day, where you can take a tour of the space, meet the team, and have an informal chat about the different ways to get involved. It’s a great opportunity to see what we do and find a role that fits you.
In the meantime, please contact us by hitting the ‘Want to Help?’ button or emailing us at [email protected]
